What Nervous System Dysregulation Actually Looks Like
Over the years, I’ve come to understand that many of the symptoms people experience don’t start where we think they do.
They start with the nervous system.
What Dysregulation Really Means
Nervous system dysregulation simply means the body has difficulty shifting between states.
Between activation and rest.
Between stress and recovery.
Instead of moving fluidly…
the body gets stuck.
What This Can Feel Like
Dysregulation doesn’t always look obvious.
It can show up as:
constant anxiety or feeling on edge
fatigue but difficulty resting
trouble sleeping or waking up exhausted
digestive issues
hormone imbalances
feeling overwhelmed easily
Sometimes it feels like being wired and tired at the same time.
Why This Happens
When the body is exposed to ongoing stress, whether physical, emotional, or environmental, it adapts.
It stays in a state of readiness.
And over time… that becomes the baseline.
What I’ve Come to Understand
The body isn’t broken.
It’s adapting.
But when that adaptation continues for too long, it starts to affect multiple systems.
Final Thoughts
What I’ve come to understand is this:
If we don’t support the nervous system…
we often end up chasing symptoms.
And real change begins when we start at the foundation.
